New UKAS & MCERTS accreditations
Further additions have been made to our schedule of UKAS accredited tests:
Sulphide in water, using the Aquakem discrete colorimetric analyser, is now accredited to ISO17025.
Water soluble boron in soils by hot water extraction and ICP-OES is now MCERTS accredited.
An ongoing programme of method development and validation at Chemtest, driven by the latest technological developments, new quality standards (e.g. MCERTS waters) and most importantly our clients’ expectations, continues to improve and expand the range of our accreditations.

Chemtest are pleased to announce that validation data for several determinands on trade effluents and sewage effluents submitted for accreditation, have been confirmed to meet the requirements of the MCERTS (Waters) standard and ISO17025. Grant of MCERTS (Waters) accreditation is scheduled for 1st of June 2010.

Chemtest were delighted to be able to contribute £1,000 to the
Newlife Foundation Charity. This contribution was put towards a specially adapted wheelchair for 10 year old Garreth Berridge who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Garreth's father Ian Berridge, Field Service Specialist with Perkin Elmer has said that "it is making a great
difference in his day to day life."

Fastest turnaround in the industry
Chemtest have maintained the impressive record again this quarter for all turnaround times requested by clients:
- 3-wdta 100% out on time
- 5-wdta 100% out on time
- 7-wdta 99% out on time

Chemtest Limited have just completed year 1 of trading after the management Buy Out last April.

Peter Noone in response to the question “looking back are you and your team pleased that you bought the business?”.
Chemtest have put in a solid performance over the previous 12 months showing growth in Turnover and EBITDA approaching double figures. The climate remains very challenging with significant pricing pressure from some competitors but the opportunity remains for growth through high levels of customer service and out on time results.
Chemtest onsite the environmental monitoring and asbestos surveying division also maintained its impressive targets of 20% increase in revenue.

We are pleased to announce that Sulphide in Soils will in future be reported as an MCERTS accredited test. This is a result of our ongoing programme to expand our UKAS schedule of accreditation. Further tests will be added as new instruments and analytical technologies continue to be introduced.

CHAS AccreditationChemtest are pleased to announce its accreditation to the CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety) standard.
CHAS ensures that we are a competent company with regards to managing health and safety and are committed to continuous improvement. We are also working towards OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, to complement our existing UKAS ISO 17025 and 17020 accreditations.
